If a specific page on a website doesn't load for some reason or in case a link is not working, the visitor will see an error page with a generic message. The page shall have nothing in common with the rest of the Internet site, that could make the visitor leave your site. A potential solution in such a case is a feature made available from some website hosting companies - the ability to set up your own custom-made error pages that shall have identical design and style as your Internet site and that may contain any images or text which you want dependent upon the particular error. There are 4 well-known errors which could take place and they involve these particular so-called HTTP status codes - 400, when your Internet browser sends a bad request to the server and it cannot be processed; 401, if you are supposed to log in to see a webpage, but you haven't done so yet; 403, if you do not have an authorization to see a specific page; and 404, when a link that you have clicked leads to a file that does not exist. In any of these situations, site visitors will be able to see your custom content as opposed to a generic error page.
